Updating the brand voice
One of my first assignments at QinetiQ was to refresh the brand guidelines. The previous version was laid out and read more like a heavy technical manual. I was asked to create a more user-friendly version.
I laid-out the guidelines so it could be easily divided into sections and so only relevant parts could be sent to employees and external suppliers as necessary. I gave the copy a more personal and impassioned voice. The general layout of each page was cleaned up so it had a more accessible and contemporary feel.
The secondary colour palette was refreshed to combine the internal and external colours (both had been different previously) for brand consistency, and I also introduced a new contemporary green. Alongside this, a Tone Of Voice was included for the first time.
